One evening, five lots

Look closer. Bid smarter. Keep what you love.

Every evening is a short, complete story: study the lot, read the room, and see whether your instinct was right when the hammer falls.

1

Read the lot

Every lot comes with a rough estimate and close-ups to study. Compare the maker’s mark with the real thing, tap whatever looks wrong, or pay the appraiser for a reference.

  • Compare your piece against a genuine example
  • Some lots are forgeries, and a fake costs you
  • Upgrades unlock a second clue
The bidding screen with bid, power bid and set-a-ceiling buttons under the auction room.
2

Bid on the beat

The auctioneer counts going once, going twice, sold. Watch the paddles, bid before the hammer falls, or shake the room with a power bid.

  • Rivals bid against you and against each other
  • Set a ceiling and let it bid beat by beat
  • Relaxed mode removes the countdown entirely
The result card: “Yours!” with the pocket watch, marked authentic, showing what you paid and what the house would offer.
3

The hammer falls

Winning reveals everything: authentic, flawed, or something better than anyone guessed. See what you paid, what the house would offer, and what you could sell it for.

  • Every lot you missed shows what it was really worth
  • About one lot in fifty is a rare jackpot
  • Rumours are fun, but only some are true
Your case: tomorrow’s market news, tonight’s collectors and their prices, and your first find.
4

Keep it, sell it, deliver it

Fill a collector’s order, haggle with a dealer, or keep a favourite in your case. The market moves every night, and the news flash warns you a night early.

  • Three collectors want different things each evening
  • Sell three of a kind as a set for a bonus
  • Restore flawed pieces in the workshop

Inside the saleroom

A small game with a lot of curiosity in it.

Cozy on the surface, with real decisions underneath. Everything you need is on your phone.

Spot the fakes

Compare close-ups against a genuine mark to decide whether a piece is right. Flaws stay hidden until the hammer, forgeries get subtler as you climb, and buying a fake costs you coins.

Beat someone in a bidding war and they remember it. Let them have a piece they love and they remember that too.

A market that moves

Fifteen categories drift with the news. Sell into a crowd and prices dip; plan around tomorrow’s flash.

The room

Everyone in the room has a habit.

Learn who snipes, who bluffs and who tells the truth with their face. They will learn about you too.

Pixel-art bidders in coloured seats: Reginald, you, Cleo and Felix, with their purses under each seat.
R
Sniper

Reginald

Waits, watches, and snipes on the very last beat of the count. Holds firm against power bids.

C
Honest tells

Cleo

Her expressions give away her ceiling. Read her well and you will always know when to stop.

F
Bluffer

Felix

Bluffs loudly, and gets heated if you outbid him twice. Keep your cool and he may overreach.

V
The dealer

Vince

Haggles for a living. Take his offer or ask for more, but he walks after two misses.

Fair play

Your game stays yours. Ads stay gentle.

We think you should know exactly how Pocket Auction pays its way, so here it is in plain words.

Saves stay on your phone

Your progress, collection and settings never leave your device. There is no account, no cloud sync and no in-app purchases.

A few gentle ads

The iPhone app may show a short ad between some evenings. You can also choose optional ads for a bonus, like extra coins or a free appraiser reference. None are required to play.

You are in control

Ads are requested as non-personalized. Where the law asks for it, the game asks your consent first, and you can change your choice in Settings.

Good questions

Before you bid

When can I play?

Pocket Auction is made for iPhone and is heading to the App Store. Once it is live, this page will link straight to it.

Does it cost anything, or have in-app purchases?

There are no in-app purchases and no real-money auctions. The iPhone app is supported by ads: an occasional one between some evenings, plus optional ones you can choose to watch for a bonus. Game coins are pretend and cannot be bought or cashed out.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. The whole game is on your phone and plays offline. Only ads, and the messages that ask about ad privacy, need a connection. Without one the game simply carries on without them.

Is your progress backed up?

You have three save slots on your iPhone, saved automatically. There is no account or cloud restore, so deleting a slot or the app removes that progress. Your own iPhone backups may include it, depending on your Apple settings.

What about ads and your privacy?

Ads come from Google AdMob and are requested as non-personalized. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before any ad is requested, and you can revisit that choice from the game’s Settings. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Is this gambling?

No. Bidding uses fictional coins with no cash value, you cannot win real money or prizes, and coins cannot be purchased. It is a game about knowledge, judgement and a little luck.

Will it come to other devices?

Pocket Auction is designed for iPhone in portrait. If that changes, we will announce it here.

I found a bug, or I have an idea.

We would love to hear it. Visit the support page or write to support@ylms.me with your iPhone model, iOS version and what happened.
